Marie Diomede

Marie Tillie Diomede, 71, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Sunday, July 20, 2008 at her home in Clovis. She was born September 25, 1936 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to Juan Ruby Griego Barela.

She married Nicholas Diomede August 22, 1968. She was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She loved to dance. She made rosaries for many people the church. She was well known and loved by many people. She was known for her smile. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

She is survived by 4 daughters, Kelly Diomede, Jennifer Diomede and Michelle Garcia and husband Albert Jr. all of Clovis and Doris Minoletti and husband Giovani of Eureka, Nevada; 2 sons, John Diomede and companion Chris Stynen of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Dominic Diomede of Atlanta, Georgia; 1 sister, Erlinda Apodaca and husband Antonio of Los Lunas, New Mexico; 3 brothers, Moises Barela and Eugene Barela and wife Esperanza all of Clovis and Juan Barela Jr. and wife Julie of Tucumcari, New Mexico; 9 grandchildren, Destiny Diomede, Samantha Jeremy Perales, Daryl, Nickie and Alberta Garcia and Alia, Isabella and Julia Minoletti and 2 great grandchildren, Cruz Garcia Albert Garcia III. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 brother, Roy Barela and 2 sisters, Flora Nunez Marcella Marez.

A rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. Father Sotero Sena will officiate. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.

Pallbearers will be Gilbert Barela, Simon Barela, Roy Barela, Tony Apodaca Jr., Alejo Nunez and Jerry Nunez.
