Mrs. Marilyn Darlene Powers (née Tipton), of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the age of 72.
Darlene was born to parents Marion Ewell and Elna Fern Tipton on February 20, 1947 in Clovis, NM. She grew up as the eldest of three and graduated from Idalou High School in Texas. She married Prentice Powers in 1980 and recently celebrated their 40th anniversary together on 24 January. She was a loving mother to seven children.
Darlene was a long-time resident of Roswell, NM and worked at the Roswell Ford dealership for over 20 years. She served the community for many years as a Notary Public and member of the Country Club Road Church of Christ. She enjoyed attending church services and going camping with Prentice, but her favorite thing was spending time with her grandchildren.
Darlene is preceded in death by her father Ewell Tipton and eldest daughter Laura Ann Powers
Darlene is survived by her mother Fern Stanton, her husband Prentice Powers, her daughters, Denna Powers and Tonya Polomsky and husband Doug; her sons, Rusty Powers and wife Terry, Wayne Powers, Michael Powers, and Tony Sasser and wife Eileen; her sisters, Kathy Roach and Pam Willis; thirteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place on 10 March at 2:00 p.m. at the Country Club Road Church of Christ in Roswell.
