Marshall Hoge

Marshall Karnes Hoge, 36, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010, in Charleston, South Carolina.

Marshall was born April 11, 1974, the son of William H. Hoge and Loyce E. Fish Hoge. He graduated high school in 1992 from Clovis High School and received 1st team all state as offense and defensive lineman his junior and senior years. He received a scholarship to New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico where he played football. He transferred to Arkansas Tech University and graduated in 1997. While at Arkansas Tech he played football and was a 2nd Team All Conference defensive lineman. After graduation, Marshall taught high school and coached football for two years at Ware Shoales, SC. He then moved to Charleston, SC, and worked in the shipping industry. In 2004, he began his career as a real estate appraiser with Atlantic Appraisals in Mt. Pleasant, SC. He volunteered with the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Department as a volunteer coach for youth soccer and tball. Marshall was an avid Oklahoma University football fan. He was a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

In addition to his parents of Sumter, SC, Marshall is survived by his wife, Ashley Smithson Hoge his son Cooper Fish Hoge his daughter Paisley Anna Hoge all of Mt. Pleasant, SC his brother, Michael W. Hoge and his wife Laura his nephew, Michal, and niece, Mary LeNoir, of Sumter, SC and his paternal grandmother, Ruth McBride Hoge, of Princeton, WV.

Marshall is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Crank, of Charlotte, NC.

A Memorial service will be held locally in Clovis, NM on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at SteedTodd Chapel at 6:00 p.m. A Celebration of his life was held Sunday, November 7, 2010, in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Friends are asked that in lieu of any flowers donations will be collected at the service for Marshalls Children and sent to The Marshall Hoge Childrens Fund, co Leslie Norris, South Carolina Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 190012, North Charleston, SC 29419. Condolences may be sent to the Hoge family via www.steedtodd.com or www.mcalistersmith.com.
