Marvin C. Gallagher, 79, of Clovis died Friday, February 11, 2011 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on July 20, 1931 to Ralph and Irene Spriggs Gallagher in Farwell, Texas.
Marvin grew up in Clovis and worked for the Village of Melrose as the operator of the landfill. He loved fishing, travelling, and spending time with his family, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Marvin is survived by one son, Marvin Sandra Gallagher of Clovis three daughters, Irene Anthony Chavez, Rose Gallagher, and Dorothy Edward Shelton, all of Clovis three brothers, three sisters, 11 grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 13 at SteedTodd Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 14, 2011 at SteedTodd Chapel. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Anthony Chavez, Anthony Chavez, Jr., Edward Shelton, Latervon Frohnhofer, Joshua Frohnhofer, Eric Gallagher, Judas Lopez, Robert Gallagher, Dominic Woods, and Deon Woods. After the graveside service, the family will receive visitors at Irene Chavezs home, 3801 Homestead Place in Clovis.
