Mary Frances Christian, age 91, formerly of Melrose, New Mexico died Thursday, December 25, 2008 at the Farwell Convalescent Center in Farwell. She was born June 5, 1917 in Marlow, Oklahoma to Elijah and Jennie Bell Rankin. She married Albert Christian in Anadarko, Oklahoma on January 21, 1948. Together they began their family in Oklahoma. They moved to Grady, New Mexico in 1964 and later to Forrest and then to Melrose.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, her daughter, Dorothy McIlroy, son-in-law Dickey Reeves and grandson, Jarry Christian. She is survived by her son, Don Laverne Christian of Huntsville, Texas and daughters Debbie Jack Burch of Melrose and Geraldine Reeves of Keller, Texas and son-in-law Leon McIlroy of Garland, Texas; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchildren.
