Mary Kirby

Mary Ellen Kirby, 78, of Lubbock, TX, formerly of Clovis, NM, died Thursday, January 14, 2010 in Lubbock. She was born March 24, 1932 in Pauls Valley, OK, to Benjamin Oved and Lillie Pearl Leatherwood Newman.

She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by son and daughterinlaw, Roger and Deborah Kirby of Lubbock, TX son and daughterinlaw, Gary and Judy Kirby of Cochran, GA brother, Willis Gene Newman of Clovis, NM sisters, Donna Switzer of Clovis, NM and Erma Lee Shoemake of Mount Vernon, TX grandchildren, Kerry Copeland, Christina Kirby, Tabatha Kreger, Cody Kirby, Roy Dean Kirby and 7 12 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oved and Lillie Newman sister, Foy Vandurvier brothers, LeeRoy Newman, Otis Newman husband, Roy Kirby son, Scott Kirby and greatgrandson, Keven Kirby.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2010, at SteedTodd Chapel in Clovis. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, New Mexico.

Pallbearers will be Craig Kirby, Andrew Lewis, Eric Kirby, Richard Kishur, Robert Kreger and Darrel Fuller.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Evanna Stroud, Mason Kirby, Travis Copeland, Annabree Kreger, Devon Kirby, Ashley Kirby and Jacob Dean Kirby.
