Mary Rogers

Mary Clyde Rogers, 71 of Melrose, NM, passed away at her home on March 24, 2017 with her husband at her side.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 10:30AM at the First Baptist Church of Melrose with Brother Durwood Wofford officiating.

Mary was born to Mary Aileen Cawthon and William Cawthon on July 25, 1945. Her younger years were all spent in Cleveland, Mississippi, attending grade school through high school graduation. While in high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society excelling in English and Speech. Upon graduation from high school, she attended Draughons Business College in Memphis, Tennessee. That is where by the Grace of God, she met and married Bobbie Rogers, a farm boy from Melrose, New Mexico, who was serving in the United States Navy stationed in Millington, Tennessee. That started the journey that lasted nearly 52 years. Bob and Mary Rogers had four children, twin sons, Robert (Jamie) and Charles (Christel) who go by Bobby and Billy, two daughters Tracy (Leonard) and Amy. From the marriages of the children born them 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mary loved dolls, she would scan doll publications and turn the edges of the pages she wanted to revisit for creative ideas. She was an excellent seamstress sewing the patterns she purchased or from her own imagination. Every stitch had to be in place, if not the whole project would be restarted, everything had to be perfect and that was Mary Clyde. The first-time Mary and I made eye contact and the eventual stare, I knew Mary was given to me by God. He leads me to her and her to me. Mary had the strongest faith in our Lord from the very beginning, and occasionally she would tell me, "Bob where is your faith? Trust and obey God will not supply your wants, but your needs." Mary was a very private wife and grandmother and an avid reader of Jesus Calling & God's word. Our hearts ache here, but her Joy is now what we all seek.
