Maudy Lewis

Maudy Bea Lewis, age 96, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Select Hospital in Midland after a short illness. She was born on November 15, 1914 in Collingsworth County, TX to Charles and Ada Harbison. She was raised in Wheeler County, TX and moved to Grady, NM in 1930. She graduated from high school in 1931 and graduated from Clovis Beauty Culture College in 1938. She married Dale Lewis on June 28, 1938. They farmed for several years in the Field and Melrose communities. They spent some time in Grand Junction, CO, and moved back to Clovis to retire. Her husband of 57 years died in 1995. She moved to Odessa, TX in 2006 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Dolores Stovall two grandchildren, Linda and Steve and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at SteedTodd Funeral Home on Monday, August 22, 2011 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, Clovis, NM.
