Maurice Fuller

Wayne Fuller was born July 31, 1923 at the home of his Aunt in Lordsburg, NM. His parents were Raymond Wayne Fuller and Olive Ethel McClain.

He attended grade school at Summit, NM and graduated at Lordsburg High School in 1941.

He worked with his dad and granddad at the Fuller Ranch located between Lordsburg, NM and Duncan, AZ. He worked at several jobs and had different businesses throughout his life time. While managing the Power Company at Ruidoso, NM, he met and married Johnnie Ruth Hughes, January 3, 1946. They were together 54 years. Johnnie went to meet her Heavenly Father in 2000.

While working in Albuquerque, NM he was saved and later became an ordained Baptist Preacher. He began a mission near Bloomfield, NM and founded Bethel Baptist Church in Aztec, NM. He later moved to Holtville, California and was the pastor of First Southern Baptist Church. When he moved to Portales he was the pastor of Westside Baptist Church, and for a short time was the pastor of Westmoreland Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. When he moved back to Portales in 1979 he founded Liberty Baptist Church. At the time of his death he was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Wayne was a strong Christian man and was always witnessing to everyone he met. He loved missionaries and supported several, all over the world and in the U.S. He stood by his beliefs and in the King James Version of the Bible.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Johnnie, who died in 2000.

Survivors include: Dr. Charles Fuller and family of Datil, NM, Judge Tom Fuller of Dallas, TX, Neal Fuller of Las Cruces, NM, Lou Ella Hernandez of Albuquerque, NM and Troy Agan and family of Truth of Consequences, NM. He is also survived by many dear Christian friends, who blessed him in so many ways, as he had blessed them.

Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Portales Cemetery with Pastor Fergus Tunnell officiating.
