May Williams

July 31, 1925 — February 8, 2008


May Lea Williams, 82, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Friday, February 8, 2008 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. She was born July 31, 1925 near McLean, Texas to Lewis and Lydia May Poarch Morse.

After graduating from Grady High School in 1944 she moved to California and worked as a riveter on P-64's at Lockheed. She married Charles Williams December 5, 1944, at her parent's home in the Grady community. She was an artist and baked the communion bread for FUMC for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Grady Extension Club, Pintores Art League, and TOPS.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years; 3 children, David Williams Connie of Clovis, Jim Williams DeDe of Buena Vista, Colorado, Deborah Williams of Clovis; 8 grandchildren, Amanda Mitchell Dave of Farwell, Texas, Heather Ellis Greg, Michael Williams of Longmont, Colorado, Laurel Dibble Tom of Los Angeles, California, Rob Williams Kami of Arvada, Colorado, Jennifer Williams of Clovis, Dayna Williams and Todd Williams Adrienne all of Plano, TX; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Racy Morse and her sister Lucile Shaw.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Harry Riser officiating.
