Melvin Crubaugh

Melvin L. Crubaugh, 75, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Monday, March 31, 2008 at his home in Clovis. He was born March 11, 1933 in Millville, Wisconsin to Paul Reuben Irma Mae Sprague Crubaugh.

He was raised on a farm near Fennimore, Wisconsin. He married LaVon Stimpson November 27, 1955 in Lancaster, Wisconsin. He served in the U. S. Navy as a hospital corpsman from 1955 to 1957. He worked in an Army hospital in Okinawa, Japan as a Naval Corpsman, attached to the U. S. Marines. He later was a meat inspector for the U. S. Department of Agriculture and retired in 1999 after 33 years. He was a member of Westbrook Baptist Church since 1968, where he served in many positions over the years.

He is survived by his wife, LaVon Crubaugh of the home in Clovis; 4 daughters, Susan Heiermann John of Edgewood, New Mexico, Peggy Smith Tom of Alta Loma, California, Jane Finch Joel of Clovis, New Mexico Jennifer Harger John of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 3 sons, Jeffrey Crubaugh Linda of St. Joseph, Missouri, David Crubaugh Susan of Las Vegas, Nevada and Timothy Crubaugh of Clovis, New Mexico; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Westbrook Baptist Church with Rev. Stan White, Rev. Fergus Tunnell Rev. Kenneth Heck officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers will be Grandsons, Andrew Heiermann, Steven Heiermann, Cory Pierce, Jeremy Beevers, Brian Finch, Daniel Keith and close friend, Marty Martinez.

Memorial contributions may be made to Westbrook Baptist Church.
