Services for Melvin Ray Dickenson, 74, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday at BethelbrAssembly of God with his nephew, Rev. Keeney Ray Dickenson and Rev. Lemuel Perrybrofficiating. Burial will be in Texico Cemetery under the direction of Steed-Todd FuneralbrHome. Dickenson died Monday at the Retirement Ranch.brbrDickenson was born on February 9, 1931 at Smyer, Texas. He moved to Clovis frombrWest Texas in March 1948. He attended Clovis High School and was drafted by thebrArmy in 1951. After serving two years at Fort Bliss, Dickenson returned to Clovis inbrAugust 1953. He was employed by Triangle Home Center for 19 years. Dickenson wasbrmarried to Virginia New of Carlsbad, New Mexico on May 20, 1966. He was a memberbrof the Bethel Assembly of God in Clovis.brbrSurvivors include his wife, Virginia Dickenson of Clovis, and a sister, Florence MobrKirby of Mineola, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.R. and MettiebrDickenson; brothers, J. R. Dickenson, Jr., Howard Kimbrough, and Tharon Kimbrough;brsisters, Melva Fay Dickenson his twin, and Zora Pruitt.
