Melvin Lingnau

Melvin H. Lingnau, age 67, of Farwell, TX passed away on January 20, 2014 at Muleshoe Area Medical Center in Muleshoe, TX.

Melvin was born on January 28, 1946 in Clovis, NM to Otto and Alma Louise Hintz Lingnau. He was raised in Farwell and graduated from Farwell High School in 1964. He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 and in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. He farmed most of his life in the Farwell Community. He loved classic and antique cars. Melvin was a charter member of VFW Post 3280 and the AMVETS Post 14.

Melvin is survived by two sons: Brandon Lingnau and Brent Lingnau, both of Amarillo, TX two brothers: Delbert and Myrna Lingnau of Farwell, TX and Edwin and Mary Ann Lingnau of Clovis, NM and one sister: Evelyn and Murray Martin of Clovis, NM.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carolyn Lingnau.

Family visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at SteedTodd Funeral Home, 800 E. Manana Blvd., Clovis, NM. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell, TX with Rev. Scott Blazek officiating.
