Melvin Venable

Melvin Dwight Venable, age 87 of Texico, New Mexico entered his heavenly home on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Farwell Care and Rehab in Farwell, Texas. He was born on June 16, 1930 in La Mesa, Texas to the home of Veck Venable and Lorena (Weeks) Venable.

He was a long-time resident and carpenter in the Farwell, Texas and Texico, New Mexico Communities. Melvin was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and recently with the 16th and Pile Church of Christ in Clovis.

Melvin is preceded in death by his wife Thelma; his parents, Veck and Lorena Venable; and his stepson, Gary Sims.

He is survived by one stepson, Allen Hall of Blanco, Texas; one step daughter, Brenda Sims of Midwest City, Oklahoma; one brother Jerry Venable of Amarillo, Texas; one grandson, Douglas Sims; and one granddaughter, Ashley Hall.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 3:00pm Texas Time at Sunset Terrace Cemetery in Farwell, Texas. Serving as Casket Bearers will be, Douglas Sims, Ashley Hall, Brenda Sims, Allen Hall, Britney Hawkins, Maverick Hawkins, Sawyer Hawkins, and Brice Hunt.
