Merle Watson

Merle Watson, 55, of Clovis, NM passed away on August 9, 2018 in Clovis, NM. Merle was born in Las Cruces, NM to Raymond and Caturia Watson on November 8, 1962. He attended Clovis High and Eastern New Mexico University. Merle loved being active and enjoyed listening to his music while walking up to 12 miles a day. He enjoyed going on adventures and would use his maps and backpack up in the mountains. Spontaneously, he would jump into the car with the family and take many road trips. He rode horses and one of his favorite times was working on the family ranch in Logan, NM. On Fridays he enjoyed going to the movies and having popcorn. He lived to give and was devoted to his entire family.

He is preceeded in death by grandparents, Cecil & Martha Pyle and Merle and Irene Watson, and his Uncle Connor Pyle. Merle is survived by his parents Raymond and Caturia Watson of Clovis and his sister Lena Willis. Nieces: Brittany (Charlie) Kessler and Megan (Aaron) Cline. Nephew; Chase (Tsia) Willis. Great nieces: Mariah Pena, Rhiannon Cline, Callie & Lily Kessler, Scarlett Willis, Berkeley Watson, and Harper Turner. And great nephews Conner Pyle-Goldbaum and Lincoln Watson. Aunts and Uncles: Carolyn (Jim) Turner, Tom(Vestana) Watson, Jean Smith and Bonnie Cross. Cousins: Ashely Pyle-Goldbaum, Michael and Blythe Turner, Leslie (Dan) Watson, Jamey (Mindy) Watson, and Mark and Kim Smith.

Visitation wll be 9am to 8pm Monday, August 13th at Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 14th at 10:30am at Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chase Willis, Aaron Cline, Charlie Kessler, Mark Smith, Michael Turner, Walter Smith, Jamey Watson, and Tommy Freeman.
