Mildred Autrey

Mildred Laverne Autrey, 94 years old, of Texico, New Mexico, passed away on July 23, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, NM. Visitation will take place at Steed- Todd Funeral Home in Clovis, NM on July 29, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Steed -Todd Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Horne officiating. Final resting place will follow at the Muleshoe Cemetery.

Mildred Laverne Walker Autrey was born in Knox City, Texas on October 16, 1920 to Lonnie Newton Walker and Lillie Elizabeth Peddy Walker. Mildred married Edward Glenn Autrey on March 8, 1948 in Lubbock, Texas. Mildred was a homemaker. Mildred was baptized on April 15, 1979 and has been a member of 1st Baptist Church of Texico, NM since then. Mildred was a member of the local coffee club that met at a local café of Texico, NM.
Mildred had 2 children: 1 daughter - Sherron Kay (Elliott) Hampton & 1 son - Ronnie Glenn Autrey.

Mildred is preceded in death by : husband - Edward Glenn Autrey, daughter - Sherron Kay Hampton, parents- Lonnie Newton Walker and Lillie Elizabeth Walker, and 4 brothers & 4 sisters.

Mildred is survived by her son, Ronnie Glenn Autrey of Clovis, NM, a sister, Helen Redwine of Lubbock, TX, and 4 grandchildren, Wayne Hampton, Douglas Hampton (wife, Christie) of Apex, NC, Tosha (Autrey) Thompson (husband, Richard) Lubbock, TX and Jessica (Autrey) Sturdivant (husband, David) Muleshoe, TX and 6 great grandchildren, Jimmy Hampton, Brandy Hampton, Makenzie Sturdivant, Madilyn Sturdivant, Levi Thompson, and Sterling Sturdivant.

Memorial contributions can be sent to the National Alzheimer's Association.

The family wishes to thank all relatives and friends who supported Mildred and the family in prayer and also the staff of Retirement Ranch for their excellent care.
