Misti Goguen-Everett

Misti Everett, age 51, of Clovis, New Mexico passed away on June 28, 2013 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Misti was born on June 23, 1962 to Ed and Barbara Haragan Burrage in Portales, New Mexico. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1980. She earned a Bachelors Degree in education from ENMU and became a Special Education teacher for the Clovis Public School District. She also taught Special Education at Kent School District in Washington state as well as spending several years teaching Special Education in the Navajo Nation. Misti earned her Masters Degree in Business Management in 1998. She was then employed as the bookkeeper for The Hartley House as was very proud to be a victims advocate. She later went on to manage properties all over the state of New Mexico. Misti married Scott Everett on August 2, 2002 in Clovis New Mexico.

Misti was a Baptist by faith. She loved her God, her country, her flag and especially her children. She loved to laugh, to love and to enjoy life. Misti had a wide range of interests. She preferred to educate her own children and enjoyed gardening and canning her own produce. She danced ballet in her younger years and also played the piano. She was talented in many arts and crafts, including crossstitching, stamping and scrapbooking. She taught herself to sketch and paint and she took online lessons from around the world. Misti was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, teacher and most of all, my best friend. God love you and keep you and make His face shine upon you.

Misti is survived by her husband Scott Everett of Clovis, New Mexico her children: Ashleigh Singleton Jeff of Mildonhall, England, Randaleigh Everett of Clovis, New Mexico and Haleigh Goguen of Clovis, New Mexico her parents: Ed and Barbara Burrage of Clovis, New Mexico one brother: Todd Burrage of Clovis, New Mexico one granddaughter: Anniston Singleton of Mildonhall, England and her mother and father in law: Van B. and Marilyn Everett of Clovis, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by one son: SPC 4 Charles E. Martin.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at SteedTodd Funeral Home in Clovis, New Mexico. Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013 at SteedTodd Funeral Home in Clovis, New Mexico with Paul Tankersley officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
