Pastor Monica Denise Cantu Herrera 36, of Texico NM went to go be with the lord on Sunday, December 18th 2016 at her home. A memorial will be held Thursday the 22nd 2016 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home at 6:00pm.
A celebration of life will be held Friday December 23rd, 2016 at the Living Word Church of God at 10:30am; 3719 E.21st Street, Clovis NM 88101. (Casket Bearers will be; Andrew Ancira, Pastor Able, Pastor Rene Rodriguez, Joseph Anaya and Eric Jones. Honorary Casket Bearer are her Spiritual Children, family and friends)
Monica was born August 25th, 1980 in Portales NM to Raymond and Veronica Cantu. She was raised by her loving grandmother Iris Cantu who lovingly showed her and taught her about Jesus and our Lord. Monica married Rene Herrera January 26th, 2001 in Pecos TX.
She was a Proverbs 31 woman with a heart of gold. Always putting others before herself. She had wisdom beyond her years thanks to her first love, Jesus. She loved spending time and creating memories with her two children Axia and Elijah. Her favorite time was being with her best friend who is her husband. She was the cofounder of her legacy Pre-Ordained Ministries. She's imparted into and touched so many peoples lives. Monica loved music. From writing, singing, to producing; her passion has reached millions.
Survivors include her husband, Rene Herrera of Clovis, one daughter Axia Herrera and one son Elijah Herrera, her loving mother/grandmother Iris Cantu, her father Raymond Cantu, her mother Veronica Cantu, one brother Michael (Yadira) Cantu, one Aunt, Mary Cantu (Curtis), one Uncle John (Mirna) Cantu. Three closest cousins Stephanie Cantu Washington, John Cantu and Iris Madrid. She was proceeded in death by her father/grandfather Ramon Cantu, father in-law Rene Herrera, Sr.
We stand on the promise that we will soon see our loved ones in heaven.
