Montey Welsh

Memorial Services for Montey A. Welsh age 78 of Melrose will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Melrose with Bethany Carpenter officiating. Viewing will be held at Steed Todd Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 25th from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Montey was born May 26, 1935 in Clovis, New Mexico to Willard and Millie Montgomery Welsh. He married Patsy Stork June 24, 1964 in Lubbock, Texas. Montey was retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked as the Postmaster in Melrose. He also farmed and was a former member of the Melrose School Board and the Melrose Volunteer Fire Department.

Montey is survived by his loving wife Patsy Welsh of Melrose son John Hicks of El Paso, Texas two daughters Monette Irwin of Dallas, Texas and Kyla Moles of Alamogordo, New Mexico brother Marvin Welsh of Lancaster, Pennsylvania two sisters Maxine Tush Thomas of Littleton, Colorado and Marlene Smith of Albuquerque, New Mexico and nine grandchildren.
