Moreland was born in Clovis NM, on April 18th, 1938 to Garland and Nina Hartley Harrington. He was a 1956 Clovis High School graduate and attended Eastern New Mexico University. He married Jane Elizabeth Owen on February 10, 1957 in Clovis, NM.

They had three children, Stephen, Kim, and Tonye. He started his career in at Dr. Crume and Dr. McDonald's as an optician. Owed a dry cleaning shop with his wife, and was a Real Estate agent with Jack Winton Reality. Moreland spent the next 30 years farming the land his grandfather Hartley previously owned in the Hollene Community. Moreland was an avid golfer, fisherman, and loved attending all of his children's sporting events (which were many!!). He especially loved telling his jokes!

Cremation has taken place by Steed Todd Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held on September 19, 2015 4:00 p.m. Colonial Park Country Club1300 Colonial Pkwy. Clovis, NM 88101

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Plains Regional Medical Center Hospice, because they took such wonderful care of Moreland.
