Morris Earl Henderson, 76, of Clovis, died August 3, 2016 at Plains Regional Medical Hospital. He was born March 31, 1940 to Helen Reed in Antlers, Oklahoma. He entered the United States Navy at age 17, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Underwater Demolition Team, becoming a Navy Frogman. He served three tours in the Vietnam War. He earned Bachelors and Masters Degrees from ENMU.
Morris was given the nickname Henry while in the navy. Henry was skilled in motorcycle riding, martial arts, graphology, weaponry, and beekeeping. He was an avowed dog lover, enjoyed writing and telling stories. He also enjoyed the study of history. Furthermore, Henry was a unique, good, honest man, never perfect but always authentic. Henry married Joanne Ellis in 1960, Sharon Wood in 1984. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, son Brad Henderson, daughter Suzanne Ogram (Craig) step-daughter Crescent Wood (Brian), grandchildren Andrew and Ariel Henderson, Candice and Josiah Ogram, and three great granddaughters. Also surviving are sisters Debra, Sharon, and brothers, Earl and Joseph. His beloved dog, Rosie, also survives, as well as long time friend, Don Lance. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Helen and Eulas Hardin, and brother Ricky Henderson.
