Mary Mozella Bell
Mozella passed Sunday evening, at Plains Regional Medical Center, embraced by the love of her family. She was born October 29, 1928 to Lea Albert and Lenora Wise in Estelline, TX where her father was a farm hand. After following the farm work to Turkey, Shallowater, and Lubbock TX over the next few years, Lea Albert eventually settled his family in Clovis after getting a job with the railroad.
Mozella met her wonderful husband, Charles Bell, in early February of 1957 while waiting on him at El Monterrey Mexican Restaurant. They were later married on July 8th of that year. Charles and Mozella purchased the Bella Vista Food Market in 1960 and operated it together until 1963 at which time they sold the market and opened the Capitol Foods Super Market in Farwell, TX. The name Capitol was chosen for the town in which they were located, as Farwell was the capitol of the old XIT Ranch. In 1966, Charles and Mozella purchased the Country Store located at Grand and Mitchell in Clovis and operated both grocery stores for ten years, eventually selling the Country Store in 1976. Mozella was an integral part of running their grocery business, serving as bookkeeper until 1999 when they eventually sold Capitol Foods to the Lowes Supermarket chain.
Mozella was a member of the Clovis Advent Christian Church where she volunteered in a number of roles over the years, including Vacation Bible School, Sunday school, church secretary, and Womens Home and Foreign Missions WHFM. Beloved by her brothers and sisters in Christ, Mozella was known for her hearty laugh which could easily be heard across the fellowship hall during church functions.
Charles and Mozella thoroughly enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family and friends. One of their favorite spots was in Ruidoso, NM where they owned a cabin and frequented the horse races. The Bells were well known for hosting weekend cookouts and swim parties for family and friends. Known as Grandmother to all, there wasnt a grandchild that went unspoiled while visiting her house.
Mozella was a true blessing to all who knew her, always in good spirits and demonstrating a true love of life. She will be dearly missed.

Time is filled with swift transition,
Naught of earth unmoved can stand,
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to Gods unchanging hand.
