Thelma Mozelle Kirby passed away peacefully on April 25th, 2014 in Barling, Arkansas.
She was born to the late Denver and Edith May on January 13, 1927 in Wheeler, Texas.
Her friends called her Mo. Her grandchildren affectionately referred to her as Grandma, Grandmo, Meme and MoMo.
She graduated from Texico High School in 1946. She was a cheerleader and had a passion for football, especially into her adult years. If you ever saw her at a game, you probably heard her cheering for her boys whether it be her sons, grandsons, the boys from Texico High or her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.
She provided 20 years of loyalty and service to the Texico Schools until she retired in 1994. She was an integral part of the cafeteria team and loved by all of the students. Her famous enchilada recipe will continue to bring comfort and good memories to her family for years to come.
She lived a simple and frugal life that appeared stress free regardless of the adversity she faced along the way. She devoted much of her life to taking care of other people. Selfless and humble, she always put the needs of others before her own. She earned her wings long before her final day of life.
She was a faithful member of Texico Baptist Church and loved being part of the congregation. She served as church custodian as long as she was able.
She also loved animals. There wasnt a neighborhood cat that didnt know the way to Mos house when they heard here kitty being called out her back door.
Her latter years were spent at a nursing home in Arkansas so she could be near her daughters. She was truly loved by her family and her friends.
Mozelles smile and laugh was infectious. Even on her last day, her smile could light up a room and it did. If you ever saw her smile, you will understand.
