Myrtle Miles

Ophelia Osborne Billington Miles age 90 passed away December 6, 2007 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center after sustaining a stroke. She was born in Farwell, Texas on May 30, 1917 to James Luther and Geneva Osborne. She was reared in Farwell where she was a postal employee. She married Morgan Billington in 1939. They lived on a cattle ranch near Dalhart, Texas for several years. They moved to Texico, New Mexico and had two children. Her first husband, Morgan passed away on August 28, 1973. In 1983 she married Ferrell Miles and moved to Montgomery, Alabama.

After six years of marriage Ferrell passed away. She moved to West Point, Mississippi where she remained until her death. Her daughter Jill Beard Don is a Register Nurse who lives in Lubbock, Texas and has two children, Michelle Clevenger Scott of Hart, Texas and Heather Nokes David of Amarillo, Texas. Ophelia was a proud great grandmother of three; Christopher and Haley Clevenger of Hart, Texas and Harley Nokes Amarillo, Texas. Her son William Bill Debbie lives in West Point, Mississippi and practices as a physician. Ophelia has four additional grandchildren, Morgan III, Gary, Ross, and Lauren Billington of West Point, Mississippi. She is survived by her sister Genevieve Ginny Harrison of North Carolina and special friends Charles and Faye Wyatt.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother, William Henry Osborne and sister Nancy Parson.
Graveside Services are scheduled for Monday, December 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. M.S.T at the Texico Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to St. Jude Childrens Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee or to the Baptist Childrens Home P.O. Box 629, Portales, New Mexico 88130.
