Nancy Schwertner

Nancy Kay Schwertner, 59, of Farwell, Texas, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Covenant Medical Center Lakeside in Lubbock, Texas. She was born March 2, 1949 to Nick Kate Jurecek in San Angelo, Texas.

She graduated from Eldorado High School, attended Angelo State University and graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelors degree in Microbiology. She married Mark Schwertner February 15, 1975 in San Angelo. She was a homemaker, worked on the family farm and she dedicated her life to raising her four children. She was very active in her family life and her faith. She was an active member of St. Anns Catholic Church and where she was CCD Director for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Schwertner of Farwell; 1 daughter, Melissa Sciumbato Shawn of Idalou, Texas; 3 sons, Kris Schwertner and Matt Schwertner both of Farwell and Luke Schwertner of Lubbock; 1 granddaughter, Gianna Sciumbato of Idalou and 1 brother, Dennis Jurecek Kay of Breckenridge, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Mikel Jurecek.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00a.m. CDT, Thursday, July 3, 2008 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Bovina, Texas. Msgr. Tim Schwertner and Father John Ohlig will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell.

Pallbearers will be Eric Schwertner, Mark Jones, Zac Schilling, Jason Schilling, Brandon Walker Mitch Jurecek.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Anns CCD Building Fund, 409 S. 3rd. St., P.O. Box 660, Bovina, Texas 79009.
