Nell Waide

Nell Waide, 85, of Clovis, NM went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday April 11, at Retirement Ranch. She was born on August 8, 1925 in Tennessee to Henderson and Bergie Ownby Ogle.

At a very young age her mother passed away and Nell was adopted by her mothers sister and her husband Minerva and Giles Cogdill. Nell was baptized at a young age and had a very close relationship with God her entire life. She married Clay Waide December 8, 1941. Together they raised 3 sons Douglas Sue Waide, Donald Waide and Doyle Linda Waide. Nell owned and operated a beauty salon for many years in Clayton, NM. She also helped her husband with his business Waide Electric in Clayton, NM. After she retired she worked as an education assistant for Clovis Municipal Schools for 10 years.

Nell is predeceased by her husband Clay, her son Donnie, her parents Henderson Ogle, Bergie Ownby Ogle, Minerva Ownby Cogdill, Giles Cogdill, and her brothers Ray Ogle, Fred Ogle, Frank Ogle and Woody.

She is survived by her sons Doug Sue Waide, Doyle Linda Waide, her sisters Edith Spradlin and Irene Wells, her grandchildren Kimberly Ogle, Andy Waide, Amanda Waide, Stephanie Reeser, Stacey Esquibel, Corey Waide, Alice Penner, Lisa Calderon, Tommy Cunningham, her great granddaughter Becky Reeser as well as numerous other great grandchildren and greatgreat grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at the cemetery in Clayton, NM on Monday April 18, 2011 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Baptist Childrens Home P.O. Box 629 Portales, NM 88130.
