Neva Marshall

Neva Marshall , 93, of Clovis, died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Kingman Healthcare in Canyon, Texas.

Services will be held in Clovis, New Mexico, Tuesday, April 6th at 2 p.m. in the Forrest Heights Baptist Church with Brother Tony Reynolds officiating. Neva will be laid to rest at Portales Cemetery in Portales, New Mexico.

Neva Marshall was born July 17, 1916 in Ravealta, New Mexico to pioneer parents Reverend Rueben and Clara Shiplet. Neva died surrounded by loved ones at the Canyon Healthcare. Neva was raised all over the panhandle but made her homes in Clarendon, San Jon, Portales, Clovis and finally Canyon. She met and married the love of her life, RB Marshall, in Tucumcari, New Mexico on November 13, 1937. They started their new married life on the farm of RBs parents in Clarendon, Texas. Neva studied nursing through the mail from the Chicago School of Nursing in the 1940s. She also studied reflexology which many people benefited from. Neva was a member of University Baptist Church in Portales, NM, San Jon First Baptist church in San Jon, NM and Forrest Heights Baptist Church in Clovis, NM where she was active in WMU, G.A.s and taught Sunday School. Nevas career was taking care of her family and being a wonderful witness for GOD.

Neva Marshall was a true believer in God and did her best to instill His values in her family. Her loving smile and her faith in God touched all of those around her. Her marriage to her husband was solid and filled with love. Because of her faith she was the calm in her familys trials, our prayer warrior, our Angel on earth. Neva exemplified how a true follower of Christ should live. Her family will miss her but are secure in the knowledge that she sits at the feet of Christ and will watch over us and greet us when our time here is complete.

The family would like to thank the staff at Canyon Healthcare and Hospice of the Southwest. They showed as much love to Neva as if they were her family and continue to care for our Grandfather whom they call Pa Pa. We love you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents seven brothers, Dee Shiplet, Brice Shiplet, Joe Shiplet, Jack Shiplet, Selvy Shiplet, Bertram Shiplet two sisters, Mayfair Graves and Desi Duke one son, Michael Clair Marshall two grandchildren, Michael Scott Adair and Erin Renae Naslund.

Survivors include her husband R.B. Marshall 97 yrs old a brother, Lemuel Shiplet 98 yrs old and his wife Josephine 91 yrs old her children, Bonita Hill, Roxie and F. A. Adair seven grandchildren, Twilia and Roger Chumney, Tammy Naslund, Trenda and Chris Sweeney, Bryan and Patricia Cosby, Tanya and James Beatty, Michelle Aaron, Kristina Adair nineteen great grandchildren eleven great great grandchildren several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
