Nicolas Ruiz

Nicolas Ruiz was born on December 6, 1940 in Lamesa TX, to the home of Eugenio & Margarita (Gonzales) Ruiz. He passed from this life on October 20, 2018 at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, NM.

Nicolas was known as a very hard worker! He grew up on a farm, and when he was in Ninth grade, he began working full time. He was unable to graduate, but later on in his life, he did finish up his G.E.D. He spent a large part of his life doing flooring work with his company - American Floor Service - where he specialized in tile installations. His work was well known in this area and always stayed busy with this type of construction.

Known as a jokester, Nicolas LOVED to laugh! He was very quick witted and always kept his family, and later his nurses, smiling! He was a true treasure to his family, kids and grandkids. Mr. Ruiz loved fishing, gardening-especially cantaloupe and watermelon, as well as Elvis Presley music and Western movies.

Nicolas Ruiz is survived by his children: Marcus Ruiz from Hobbs, NM and his son, Hunter Grimes; Lindsey Ruiz Baldanado, and her husband, Carlos, and son Dadrien; Ryan Ruiz, wife Becky, and their 3 children-Jazzy, Kloe & Jaden; Michael Gross, and wife Samantha. Also by siblings Victoria Jensen, and Joe Ruiz.

Nicolas was preceded in death by: his parents Eugenio & Margarita Ruiz; his son, Steven-who passed away earlier this month after a long illness leaves behind Sarah Ruiz; Siblings Alex Ruiz, Eugenio Ruiz Jr, Domingo Ruiz & Refugia (Cookie) Quiroz.


There will be a Memorial Service for Nicolas Ruiz on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel at Steed Todd Funeral Home. (800 East Manana Blvd., Clovis, NM) with Pastor Don Thomas officiating. All friends are invited to this celebration of life.
