Nina Pearl Stanford Welch
January 27,1933 - September 16, 2017
Nina was born January 27, 1933 in Portales, NM to Eunita and Albert Lee Stanford. She grew up in Portales, New Mexico where she graduated from high school in 1950.
She married Vanoy Lee Welch in Lordsburg, New Mexico in 1951. They lived in Durango, Mexico; Hotchkiss, Colorado; Moab, Utah; and Roswell, Clayton, Lordsburg, Los Alamos, and Clovis, New Mexico. She moved to Clovis in 1974.
She enjoyed making quilts, reading, traveling and being active in her church. She was a member of the Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church. She retired from Cannon AFB NM as a Resource Management Flight Chief in January 1998. She moved from Clovis to Severn, Maryland in 2011 to be closer to her son Vanoy and his family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Denver Stanford, and two sisters, Charlotte Stanford and Patricia Pipal.
She is survived by her son and his wife Kelley, two grandsons, Andrew and Dakota of Severn, Maryland; one sister, Lynette Grim of Clovis; one brother, Ron Morgan of Amarillo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday the 26th and Tuesday the 27th from 9am to 8pm at Steed Todd Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, September 27th in the Steed Todd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis. Burial immediately following in the Lawn Haven Memorial Garden Cemetery with her nephews serving as pallbearers.
