Obera Zachry

OBera B. Zachry, age 94 of Roy, New Mexico passed away on February 19, 2014 at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, New Mexico.

OBera was born on May 30, 1919 to Albert Napoleon and Mary Eula White Burgan. She married Dellas Glenn Zachry on September 16, 1939 in Canyon, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1989. OBera lived in the Roy community since 1946. She was a member of the Roy PTA, Farm Club, Cemetery Board and worked for the voting polls in Roy. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Roy and served as treasurer of her church for over fortysix years.

OBera is survived by daughter and soninlaw Glenn and Barbara Zachry Pierce of Big Spring, TX daughter and Glenda Zachry Dodd of Melrose, NM son and daughterinlaw Jimmy and Amy Zachry of Montgomery, AL four grandchildren: Dana Pierce VanHosen of Big Spring, TX, Brian Zachry Pierce of Big Spring, TX, Troy and Terry Dodd of Umbarger, TX and Burl and Jana Dodd of Floyd, NM great grandchildren: Sonia Barlow of Big Spring, TX, Aaron Gregory of Big Spring, TX, Zachry, Cory and Joshua Pierce of Midland, TX, Trace and Darcy Dodd of Umbarger, TX, Eliza Dodd of Floyd, NM and Emma, Alex and Abby Moyer of Ft. Sumner, NM great great grandchildren: Christopher Jason Mize C.J. of Big Spring, TX, Abby Small of Big Spring, TX and Meyka Sutten of Big Spring, TX.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother: Albert N. and Mary E. White Burgan her husband: Dellas Glenn Zachry her fatherinlaw and motherinlaw: Eugene Nunn and Jane Annis Trusty Zachry and one grandson: Christopher Glenn Pierce and soninlaw: Deon Dodd.

Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Roy with Roy Mitchell officiating and Troy Dodd presenting the eulogy. Burial will follow at Roy Cemetery in Roy. Pallbearers are Dennis Dodd, Caleb Dodd, Troy Dodd, Burl Dodd, Brian Pierce, Allen Ivey and J.C. Capell. Honorary pallbearers are Aaron Gregory, Zachry Pierce, Cory Pierce, Joshua Pierce, Alex Moyer and Christopher Mize.
