Ocie Moore

Ocie Pauline Moore Moore was born December 30, 1917 in Palo Pinto County, Texas, to the home of Thomas Andrew and Beulah Underwood Moore. Pauline passed away on November 21, 2009, in Portales, New Mexico surrounded by family.

Pauline Moore married Samuel Carlos Moore on April 21, 1934 in Baylor County, Texas, giving her the unique situation of having Moore relatives on both sides of her family. They shared 69 years of marriage before his death in 2003. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and dearly loved being involved in all the activities at church. Mrs. Moore loved to quilt and sew as well as making silk flower bouquets.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; a daughter, Juanelle Mayes in January 2009; 2 brothers, H.L. Moore and Orvil Moore; 3 sisters, Lula Ezzle, Dosha Larkin and Winnie Branum.

She is survived by her daughter Beulah Miller and husband John from Friona, Texas; son, Thom and wife, Cozetta, Portales, New Mexico; son-in-law, Leslie Mayes, Stockton, California; a sister Chlotee Drewry, from California; 10 grandchildren and 18 great- grand children and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Steed-Todd Chapel with Leroy Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Donations in her name may be made to the New Mexico Christian Children's Home in Portales.
