Opal Allen

Opal Allen, 96, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Wheatfield�½s Assisted Living in Clovis, NM.

Opal was born December 25th, 1918 to William and Edna Morris in Wellington, Kansas. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1936 and married her high school sweetheart Vernon Allen on September 15, 1936. They moved to Clovis, NM the following year.

Opal was a member of the 16th and Pile Church of Christ, the Go-Go Sams and the Tops Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edna; her sister Nellie Crouch; husband of 62 years Vernon; daughter and son in law, Judy and Burl Powers; son in law Coy Smith; grandson Dean Powers; and great-grand daughter Amy Smith.

She is survived by 3 children: daughters Linda Smith of Orland, CA and Jan and Mike Hamilton of Clovis; and son Tyler and Jann Allen of Canyon, TX. There are a number of individuals who were blessed to call her Grammy. Grandchildren: Cindy Dupee, Kirk (Ruth) Smith, Wendell (Karen) Powers, Lisha Barnes, Kristie (Carsten) Salm, Monnie (Shannon) Burdett and Dani (Brady) Rembleski and Beth Powers Bretton. Thirteen great grandchildren: Sarah (Justin) Terrell, Cameron Powers, Laura (Luke) Dickins, Ryan Powers, Lindsey Powers, Erik Burdett, Thomas Burdett, Elias Rembleski, Kate Rembleski, Rachel Rembleski, Hunter Dupee, Fisher Dupee and Connor Salm. Two great-great grandsons, JD and Ty Terrell along with many family and friends.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis, New Mexico. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Wendell Powers officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis, New Mexico.
