Opal Eunice Lee Garrett went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 4, 2005.brOpal was born October 19, 1915 in Harper, Texas to Nancy Rose Sagerser and John Phillip Mabry. brbrShe married Judge Garrett June 4, 1939 in Carlsbad, NM. They lived in Silver City andbrReserve, NM until 1947 when they moved to Bellview, NM. In 1952 they moved to Clovis, NM where they were members of Central Baptist Church. She wrote commercials for a local radio station, worked for Production Credit and was an abstracter for a local title company for many years. Opal moved to Ft. Worth, TX in 2004 where she was a member of the North Ft. Worth Baptist Church.brbrShe is survived by her daughter Camille, her husband Dr. Bob Tafel; a son Art Garrett,brand wife Carol; a son Jack, and wife Libby; two granddaughters; Connie and Jennifer, and three grandsons; Geoffrey, Matthew, and Joshua.brbrServices will be 10:00 AM Friday, October 7, 2005, Steed-Todd Chapel, Clovis, NewbrMexico. Rev. Dick Ross will ofiiciate. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.brSteed-Todd Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
