Opal Wikle

Opal Ray Wikle, 84, of Melrose, New Mexico, died Friday, April 3, 2009. She was born August 2, 1924 to Henry Bertha Anna Hardin Allmand in Coleman, Texas.

She lived and raised her family in Melrose. She was the loving mother of Jerry Wikle and Ruthie Powers. She worked for many years at Fletcher Farm Services, the New Mexico Highway Department and in her later years at Melrose Senior Citizens Center where she made many friends. She was active in the community and will be missed by her loving family and many close friends.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Wikle Bonnie; grandchildren, Shawn Wikle Mistie, Bruce Wikle Kim, Norissa Aguirre Frank, Yancey Powers Jennifer, Kelly Proffitt and Christy Miller; 7 precious great grandchildren, Andrew Cheraye Aguirre, Gage Wikle, Raini Haili Whitacre And Justin Trisha Kruse and her beloved dog Brittany.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Ruthie Powers.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis, New Mexico.
