Patrick Jones

Patrick David Jones, 50, of Clovis, NM, passed away on November 6, 2016 after a courageous battle against cancer in Clovis, NM.

A celebration of David's life will be held at 2:00pm November 10, 2016 at Steed Todd Chapel.

David was born in Bakersfield, CA to Patrick and Dorothy Jones on October 8, 1966. He attended Portales High School. After graduation, he married Michele Gibson, with whom he has two children. They divorced and he later remarried Virginia Genitski.

David worked as a welder when he was younger and later became a truck driver. In his spare time, David enjoyed watching NASCAR and sports, fishing, playing drums, listening to music, and doing the radio broadcast for local sports teams. But most of all, David enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

David is survived by daughter, Amanda (Joe) of Clovis, son TJ (Kayla) of Portales, sisters Sheri Stallman and Patti Whacker, both of Angleton, TX, brother Robert Hawkins of Las Vegas, NV, father Patrick George Jones of Layton, UT, grandchildren Nichole, Arianna, Dauvin, Aaliyah, Dylan, and Presley, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his partner and companion, Virginia Jones, and her children William (Ashley), Paige (Colby), and Sarah (Jesse).

David is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Jane Roth, sister Linda Pearson, and niece Cordelia Deeanne George.

Honorary bearers will be all the local sports teams David broadcasted for, and his dogs, Jake, Sheldon, and Amy.
