Pearl Green

Pearl Carolina Green, age 73, died on Friday, November 26, 2010 at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales, New Mexico. She was born on December 31, 1936 to James Earnest and Clesta Pearl Woods in Grady, New Mexico.

She lived in Grady as a child and went to school in Wheatland, NM, and later in Grady. She moved to Portales in 1952. Pearl was always welcoming to everyone she met. She loved to cook especially on Sundays, and was a collector of many things. She loved to shop, go to garage sales, was a good seamstress, and loved her dog, Abby. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Portales, and worked in later years as a nurses aide.

Pearl is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Etchepareborde of Portales three sons, Jerry Susie Green of Canyon, TX, Gerald Green of Houston, TX, and Derald Hobbs of Portales grandchildren: Cody, Jerry Dewayne, Zacharey Green, Jennifer Jason Mashburn, Natasha Jared Shearer, Julie, Ashley, Michelle, Richie, Ricky Hobbs, and Hannah John Montiel and seven greatgrandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Gary Green, one grandson, Brandon Green, one brother, Hubert Hutchins, and one sister, Helen Duke.

The family will receive friends at SteedTodd Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 30 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at SteedTodd Chapel with burial following at Grady Cemetery, Grady, New Mexico. Pall bearers will be Bobby Self, John Montiel, Mike Etchepareborde, Jared Shearer, Tommy Knight and Clarence Hahn.
