Phoebe was born in Dahlia, New Mexico on August 12, 1935 to Piedad Rael Bachicha and Alejandro Bachicha, the fifth of eleven children. She attended school in Dahlia and Anton Chico, New Mexico. She married Bernardino Baca in 1951 and made their home in La Loma, New Mexico for a short time before relocating to Needmore, Texas, a farm and ranching community from 1954 to 1969. In 1970 the family moved to Clovis, New Mexico where Phoebe received her GED from Eastern New Mexico University satellite branch, she worked at Payless Shoe Store for several years, then began her sales career with Avon and retired after 35 years of service. Grandma Phoebe's world revolved around her precious grandchildren, Margarito and Chris Lozano, Denise Sena, David Sena, Jimmy Lee Baca, Bryan Adam Sena, Diamond Baca, Cielo Marina Rodriguez and great grandson, Julian Lozano. She will be forever remembered for her love of music, her flair to light up any room she walked into with her radiant smile and her mischevious knack for making others laugh, her sense of humor was paramount! Her love of life included her commitment to walking at least 3 miles weekly at the Clovis High School track and climbing the 62 steps at Leon Williams Stadium as part of exercise regimen. She won numerous medals in her age group for her annual participation in the 5K Allsup's Fun Run. As a young girl, Phoebe and her sister Maria would ride horses daily and race each other on horseback to see who cold best the other as they rode up steep rocky mesas!
