R. Langston

R.T. Langston, age 95 of Farwell, Texas entered into rest on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Farwell Care and Rehab Center in Farwell. He was born on November 26, 1917 in Crystal Falls, Texas to the home of Ott and Gertrude Hopper Langston.

R.T. was a great tinkerer and could repair just about anything. He was a great friend to anyone in need. He cared for lots of people by taking them to doctor appointments. He cared for his wife, mother and sister until their passing. R.T. worked for 13 years as a mechanic for the Farwell Schools where he served as their foreman. Even after his retirement he was called back several times to fill in. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Farwell where he and his wife Nadine served as custodians for 25 years. He also has been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hereford, Texas for 50 years and one of the founding members of the Farwell Fire Department. He will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda Hardy and her husband Larry of Farwell, TX one granddaughter, Heather Beverage and her husband Cade of Farwell, TX one grandson, Marty Moss and his wife DeAnn of Farwell, TX great grandchildren, Carissa Moss, Seth Beverage, Ian Beverage, Ayden Beverage, Larry Don Hardy III, and Jescelin Hardy two sister, Joyce Watson of Plainview, TX, and Donna Sue Cris of Odessa, TX two brothers, Mac Langston of Odessa, TX, and Jerry Don Langston of Midland, TX. and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nadine on January 27, 1985 his son Ronnie Langston on November 8, 1993 and his granddaughter, Athell McDonald in 2008.

Services will be held at 2:00 CST, on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Farwell, Texas with Pastor Russ Ponder, officiating. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Sunset Terrace Memorial Gardens in Farwell. Serving as Casket Bearers will be Jim Mace, Larry Gregory, James Chadwick, Joe Stanton, and Jerry Owen. Honorary Casket Bearers will be all members of the Farwell Fire Department.
