Rada Shelburn

Rada Sister Shelburn, 99, of Farwell, Texas, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico. She was born December 7, 1908 in Glen Rose, Texas to John H. Viola French Birchfield.

She owned and operated Abbott Florist in Pasadena, Texas and after retiring moved to Marble Falls, Texas in 1972. She moved to Clovis in 1999 and later moved to Farwell Convalescent Center. She enjoyed walking, flowers, designing floral arrangements and gardening. She was of the Baptist faith and was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star in Marble Falls.

She married Joe Abbott in 1927 and he preceded her in death in 1973. She married Rufus Shelburn in 1975 and he preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by one sister, Lenora Evans of Clovis and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2007 at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis with Jim Gammon officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell with no graveside service.
