Ramon Munoz Cantu

Ramon Munoz Cantu, 77, of Texico, NM passed away to be with his Heavenly Father, May 2, 2012 at his home.

He was born May 20, 1934 in Korn City, TX to the home of Jose Reyna Cantu and Timotea Munoz Cantu. He married Yolanda Rodriguez in 1955 in Alamo, TX.

He was of the Catholic Faith.

He is survive d by his wife Yolanda Cantu, of the home two sons: Ramon Cantu, Jr. Veronica of Jal, NM and John Cantu Mirna also of Jal, NM daughters Mary Cantu Curtis of Texico, NM and Monica Herrera Rene of Clovis, NM brotherinlaw Joe Madrid daughterinlaw Shelly Cantu Harrington of Bartlesville, OK and brother Geronimo Elias Munoz Cantu Guadalupe of Donna, TX.

Surviving grandchildren are Stephanie, Iris, Michael, John David, Faith, Lana and Jake.

Surviving great grandchildren are Axia, Elijah, Zane, Xavior, Jaylan, Myia and Jasmine.

Surviving nephews are Joe Cantu Nelda of Weslaco, TX and Richard Cantu Sonya of McAllen, TX and surviving nieces are Janie Cantu Zavala Gutierrez Lawrence and Sally Cantu Zavala, both of their families of California.

Ramon is preceded in death by his father Jose Reyna Cantu, his mother Timotea Munoz Cantu, three sisters: Irene Cantu, Manuelita Cantu and Nasarita Cantu Zavala and one granddaughter Hope Cantu.

Before retiring, Ramon worked for Excel for 25 years and farmed for J.B. Barrett, Grady Sorely and Buck Gregory.

Ramon enjoyed watching all sports especially football and baseball, but his passion was raising and breeding game fowl.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Donna, TX.
