Ramon Garcia, age 69 of Clovis, NM passed away on March 1, 2014 at Texas Rehab Hospital in Lubbock, TX.
He was born on April 24, 1944 in Rancho de las Flores, NM near Encino to Bonifacio and Frances Martinez Garcia and moved to Clovis with his family shortly after his birth. He attended school in Clovis and later held numerous jobs both in Clovis and Denver, CO. He was best known as a specialty meat cutter, a trade he began learning as a young teenager from his father in the family business, Garcia and Sons Grocery Store. He enjoyed watching sports in particular on Sunday afternoons with special cousins and friends, Eddie Garcia, Rudy Garcia, Herman Chavez, Jim Esquibel and Don Garcia, who will also serve as honorary pallbearers.
He is survived by his sons: Thomas Garcia, Paul Garcia, Lawrence Garcia and Stephen Garcia, all of Denver, CO six grandsons: Robert, Paul Joseph, Nicholas, Jordan, Shaun and Alexander former wife Mary Lovato of Denver, CO sisters: Rosa Montoya, Sarita Antonio Valdez of Clovis Terry Joseph Garcia of Santa Fe, NM Uncle Isidro Rose Garcia of Clovis numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents son Ramon J. Garcia brother Dickie Garcia several uncles, aunts and cousins.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Friday March 7, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m., with Father Fernando Saenz officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis, NM.
