Ramon L. Olguin, 77, of Clovis, New Mexico died Thursday, June 5, 2008 at his home in Clovis. He was born July 19, 1930 in Dahlia, New Mexico to Florencio Marta Lucero Olguin.
He married Ellen P. Paiz December 26, 1949 in Anton Chico, New Mexico. He had been a Clovis resident since 1968 and worked for many local contractors in the construction industry. During his lifetime he did many skilled jobs. He loved to fish, hunt, camp and cook. For many years he helped his wife who was known as the Burrito Lady. He enjoyed playing the accordion and guitar. He loved to dance, visit with all his friends and to tease his grandchildren, and had a nickname for all. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Local Union 16.
He is survived by 4 sons, Bobby Lee Olguin of Clovis, Kenneth Ray Olguin of Portales, James Olguin Angela of Arizona and R. Nathon Olguin Misty of Allen, Texas; 4 daughters, Marta Madrid Fidel, Margaret Montano Bob and Beverly Ray all of Clovis and Tammy Vaughn Dave of Arizona; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; 1 sister, Cleo Gomez and a daughter-in-law, Elfida Olguin.
A rosary will be held at 9:00 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2008 at Sacred Heart Community Church with mass immediately following the rosary. Deacon Juan Rodriguez will officiate. Burial will follow at Texico Cemetery in Texico, New Mexico.
Pallbearers will be Mateo Montano, Joe Madrid, Daniel Montano, Nathon Olguin, Patrick Madrid, Timothy Olguin, Joshua Olguin, Justin Olguin, Zack Olguin Dillon Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren great grandchildren.
