Ramona Ann Thornton Gaddy, born in Greenwood, Arkansas on the 12th of July, 1933, went home to God on the 21st of September, 2007. Her and her family moved to the Central Valley of California in 1946. She resided in Southern California since 1959 and then moved to Portales, New Mexico in August of 2005.
Ramona was a waitress for most of her life. She loved people and working with the public. She also loved anything to do with fabrics; her passion was quilting. She married Everett Brown in November of 1950. Together they had four children. In December of 1962 she married Clarence W. Gaddy. Together they had one son. She was preceded into the hands of the Lord by both of her parents, Virgil Eugene Sr. and Delia Mae Thornton, her stepfather Otis Rowland, one brother Virgil Eugene Jr., two sisters Helen and Jonnie Mae, her husband Clarence and their son, Matthew Bryan Sr. and her former husband Everett.
She leaves behind her loving family, her brother Roy Lee Thornton of Culbertson, Montana, two sisters Patsy Curts of Indio, California and Peggy Wilhite of Highland, California, her children Rhonda Walser of Vail, Arizona, Alvin Brown of Newman, California, G. Wayne Brown of Tuolumne, California and Glenda Armstrong of Portales, New Mexico, her 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held at the family home, 1906 Westview Diamond Way in Portales on Sunday the 23rd of September from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
