Ray Baker, age 82 of Clovis, New Mexico passed away on August 11, 2013 in Roswell, New Mexico.
Ray was born on November 10, 1930 in Lindsay, OK to Richard Bull and Dora Jane Lovina Hart Baker. He attended school in Lindsay, OK and served in the United States Army in Korea. He married Peggy Adale Morrow on July 29, 1949 in Clovis, NM. Ray farmed for many years in the Ranchvale community until his retirement in 1997. He served for many years as a Deacon at Ranchvale Baptist before moving to Clovis and joining Central Baptist, where he also served as a Deacon.
Ray is survived by two daughters: Diana Danny Smith of Portales, NM and Debby Baker of Clovis, NM one grandson: Heath Hacker of Bay City, TX one great granddaughter: Makenzie Hacker of Portales, NM and one great grandson: Kole Hacker of Portales, NM.
He is preceded in death by his parents his wife: Peggy Adale Baker and fifteen brothers and sisters.
Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at SteedTodd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis, NM with Rev. Don Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis, NM. Casket bearers are David Lansford, Ronnie Montague, Billy Tate, Phillip Tate, Daron Roach and David Hovey. Honorary casket bearers are Frank Blackburn, Hubert Qualls, Ray Montague and all of Rays friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heartfelt Manor, 2210 E. Pinelodge Road, Roswell, NM 88201.
