Ray R. Tidwell, 85, of Logan, New Mexico, passed away on September 4, 2011 at the Lubbock Heart Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on March 13, 1926 to Martin and Bessie Tidwell in Knox City, Texas.
Ray was a resident of Clovis since 1965 until this past year when he moved to Logan. He served in the Army in WWII. On August 17, 1947, he married Bonnie Morgan in Anton, Texas. He retired from Curry County in 1990 where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the American Legion in Longmont, Colorado. He was a member of Forrest Heights Baptist Church. He loved to travel and fish. He was very family oriented and loved his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of the home two sons, Lonnie Marcia Tidwell of Logan, NM, and Ronald Christella Tidwell of San Andres, California one sister, Betty Harris of Fredricksburg, Texas six grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren, and one great greatgrandson. He preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Bessie Tidwell one brother, Thaxton Tidwell one sister, Cora Smith and one granddaughter, Shawnee Michelle Tidwell.
Graveside services for Mr. Tidwell will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Texico Cemetery with Tony Reynolds, officiating. Casket bearers will be his grandsons, Bradley Tidwell, Brandon Tidwell, Terrance Tidwell, Bobby Walschmidt, Montana Ditmore, and Dustin Ditmore.
