Raymon Eugene Elliott, age 78, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center, in Lubbock, Texas. Services will be held Thursday, May 23, 2008 at 10:00 am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2800 Lore, Clovis, New Mexico with Bishop Oscar Fernandez officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis. All friends and relatives are welcome to attend the services.
Ray was born September 10, 1929, in Amarillo, Texas, to Roy and Maydine Elliott. He married Diana Bertrand Melton on November 25, 1951, in Acala, Texas. He served in the army during the Korean War. He worked as a Service Manager for International Harvester Farm Equipment until his retirement. He enjoyed working on motors and anything mechanical. He also enjoyed helping others.
Ray is survived by his eternal companion, Diana, of the home; 4 daughters: Vicki Herrington Milt of Yukon, Oklahoma, Carol Coleman Bill of Ada, Oklahoma, Beth Franks Tommy of Portales, New Mexico and Bettiruth McKee Tom, of Ft. McLeod, Alberta Canada; Surrogate sons, Tom McCloud of Mesa, Arizona and Darren Bare of Eagle Mountain, Utah; Surrogate daughter Penny Wilding of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Betty Wiseman and Frances Thick of Fabens, Texas and Nell Williams of Red Rock, Texas and Special Best Friends Lester and Anita Merrill of Clovis, New Mexico, as well as numerous others to whom he felt a close bond.
The casket will be closed at the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Missionary Fund at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
