Ray Burke, 95, of Clovis, New Mexico, died October 7, 2009, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis. He was born June 10, 1914, in Grannis, Arkansas to Charles Emma Burke.
He married Myrtle Irene Brown May 31, 1941, in Glendale, California. Ray retired in 1977 from Lockheed Aircraft Corp. in Marietta, California, as a Flight Test Inspector. He moved to Clovis in 1977.
He is survived by 2 sons, Rodney Burke of Denton, Texas and Allyn Burke Kathleen of Los Angeles, California; a daughter, Tina McCollum of Salem, Oregon; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, from Texas, California, Oregon, Colorado. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Forsee of Clovis and his niece, Kay Prater John, of Clovis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Services will be held on Tuesday, November 17 at 1:00 p. m. at the 16th Pile Church of Christ, where he was a long time member, with Jim Gammon officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers will be John Prater, Chuck Burke, David Burke, Christopher Miller, Mike Humphrey, Smitty Humphrey and Ronnie Montague.
