Raymond Cotton Robertson, age 87, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 in Muleshoe, TX.
He was born April 29, 1926 in Lariat to Joseph Caldwell, Sr. and Maggie Robertson. Cotton grew up in Lariat and was a truck driver by trade. He also served his country as a Sergeant in Cannon Company 254th Infantry Unit in the United States Army during World War II where he used his skills as a truck driver while stationed overseas in Germany. He was awarded two bronze stars and various other honors. He married the love of his life, Elouise Shorty Beauchamp on October 2, 1946 in Sudan, Texas. They ultimately relocated to Farwell in 1949 where they reared their family and have lived ever since.
Cotton is preceded in death by both parents, three brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Shorty of Farwell, a son, Randy Robertson and wife Pamela of Flower Mound a son, Radney Robertson of Washington, D.C a son, Roger Robertson and wife Kathy of Lubbock and a daughter, Rhonda Webb and husband Sam of Farwell twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Farwell, on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 2:00pm CST 1:00 pm MST with Rev. Russ Ponder officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service. Casket bearers are his grandsons: Jody Ketcherside, Stephen Ketcherside, Chance Robertson, Cade Robertson, Jaron Robertson, Jace Robertson, Aaron Hamilton and Zachary Robertson.
