Rev. Martin

Rev. Murray W. Martin, age 82 of Clovis, NM went to be with his Lord on March 6, 2014 at St. Anthonys Healthcare and Rehab in Clovis, NM.

Rev. Martin was born on April 8, 1931 to William B. and Hilda E. Clemons Martin in Wenatchee, WA. He graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in 1959 in St. Louis, MO. He served parishes in St. Louis, Southern California, New Orleans and Washington State. He was a fellow in the College of Chaplains and also Director of Pastoral Care at two geriatric facilities in Brooklyn and Long Island, NY. Upon retirement he pastored a church in Hawthorne, NY for ten years. Rev. Martin was a past president of Rotary International Clubs in Washington State and New York where he became a Paul Harris Fellow. He married Evelyn E. LingnauBeal on January 2, 1983 in New Orleans, LA. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clovis, NM.

Rev. Martin is survived by his wife, Evelyn E. Martin of the home son: Matthew A. Martin Nancy of Palmdale, CA daughter: Mary D. Bartells Jim of Farmingdale, NY stepson: Linny Beal Jil of Weatherford, TX brother: Dennis Martin of Tacoma, WA eight grandchildren: Paige Martin, Cole Martin, Mark Beal, Jilian Michael Pena, Dylan Beal, Andrew Lopez, Sue Ken Kitelinger and Alexandria Eder Vallethree great granddaughters: Audriana Pena, Lily Pena and Lillie Valle.

He is preceded in death by his parents one son: Stephen W. Martin one brother: Gary A. Martin and one sister: Genoveve ONeill.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at SteedTodd Funeral Home. Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clovis, NM with Rev. Michael A. Miller officiating. Burial will be at Parkland Lutheran Cemetery in Parkland, WA. Pallbearers are Edwin Lingnau, Linny Beal, Mark Beal and Dylan Beal.
