Richard Leo Anaya, 47, of Clovis, died on Monday, January 2, 2006 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. He was born September 22, 1958, at Ashiya Air Force Base, Japan to Raymond and Jenny Anaya. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1979 to 1982 as a boiler technician and served as a golf course manager in Italy. After his Navy tour he went to school to become a nurse in California. brbrFamily members said he loved to read and surf, and was an expert with computers. They said he never met a stranger and also had a great love for animals.brbrWhile in CLovis he served as a bartender for the American Legion Post 25 and assisted in preparing membership dinners with his specialty being a Ceasar's salad. His close friends called him chatter box or professor.brbrSurvivors include his parents, Raymond and Barbara Anaya of Clovis; his mother Jenny Murillo of Phoenix; sisters, Crescentia Hernandez of Truth or Consequences and Josett Anaya of Clovis; grandmother, Florence Garcia of Clovis; and numerous nieces and nephews.brbrA rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Gudalupe Church. Father Sotero Sena will be celebrant.brbrArrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
